FACEBOOK ACCUSES ISRAEL OF INTERFERENCE IN THE ELECTIONS OF SEVERAL COUNTRIES INCLUDING SENEGAL

Since yesterday, May 16th, Facebook has closed 65 accounts and deleted 161 pages, 23 groups and 12 events. Measures that follow, reports The Daily, flaws detected in that social network called « a coordinated inauthentic behavior. » Mark Zuckerberg’s group, who also said he detected and closed 4 Instagram accounts, says he has decided to ban the Israeli group Archimedes and all its affiliates. Which have been designated by Facebook as the basis for destabilizing activity, which particularly concerned West African countries such as Nigeria, Togo, Niger and Senegal.
In addition, other African countries like Angola, Tunisia and countries of the Far East Asian or Latin America were also targeted.

Facebook reported that Archimedes Group aimed in the above-mentioned countries to influence electoral processes and the political environment. The motto of the group, presented as a kind of marketing consultant for online social media, would be to « win elections around the world ».
